John P. Gould John P. Gould
Former GSB Dean
John P. Gould is the Steven G. Rothmeier Professor and Distinguished Service Processor of Economics at the GSB. Professor Gould served as Dean of the GSB from 1983-1993, with Associate Dean Harry Davis. Together, Gould and Davis established new initiatives in leadership for the GSB, such as the LEAD program and GSB outposts abroad. Currently, Professor Gould teaches the popular strategy capstone classes: Business Policy and Strategy Symposium. He holds a BS from Northwestern and an MBA/PhD from the University of Chicago (1966). Gould joined the faculty of the GSB in 1965. In 1969-70 he served as Special Assistant for Economic Affairs to the Secretary of Labor and Consultant for Economic Affairs to the Director for the US OMB.
