Robert S. Hamada
Former GSB Dean
Robert S. Hamada is the Edward Eagle Brown Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Finance, teaching finance since 1966 until accepting the position of Dean of the GSB from 1993-2001. Under his leadership, the GSB established campuses in Barcelona in 1994 and Singapore in 2000. He also began an international MBA program. The vision for the new Hyde Park Center took life under Hamada, who helped raise $111 MM for the new integrated campus. Hamada was previously a public director of the Chicago Board of Trade and also has served on the board of directors of the American Finance Association. He currently serves as director of A.M. Castle & Co., Northern Trust Corp., the National Bureau of Economic Research, and WTTW Chicago.
